How to have a Gold Medal event on a budget

I’m planning a fun party for my boys and today, I want to share how it’s coming together. I headed to Family Dollar for my Gold Medal event supplies and found the perfect goodies for a budget-friendly.

No celebration is complete without cupcakes. I grabbed a box of yellow cake mix and began to brainstorm on how I’d decorate them. I wanted to incorporate torches and was totally inspired when I spotted Bugles in the snack aisle. For the flames, I chose Pull ‘N’ Peel Twizzlers. And just like that, I had Bugle torches to plant in my cupcakes.

I was inspired by the ever so popular Go for the Gold phrase, so I used the phrase in some olympic party printables that I designed in Photoshop. I grabbed some Hershey’s chocolates and Reese’s wrapped in gold foil to place in the treat bags. Fun right?

I found the cutest mini bottles of water. I grabbed a case of those and wrapped them with matching water labels. Balloons are a party planning essential. One must not forget them.  I grabbed a pack of balloons in primary colors to complete the overall theme. I love how everything turned out. Looks like we’re all set for our  Gold Metal party! The only things missing are personal pan pizzas and ring toss!

I hope you enjoyed these party ideas. As you can see, with a little creativity you can plan an unforgettable gold metal event on a modest budget. Now that’s winning.
