July 4th Pasta Salad


Sticking to a theme is my number one priority when it comes to picking out food for a party. Number two on my list is making that food simple. This red, white and blue pasta is great for both. It’s the perfect combination of red, white and blue for our 4th of July cookout. It’s cool and refreshing, too.

I put it in these little plastic containers too with red and blue forks so that they could be grabbed from the table as a little snack while we’re talking and enjoying each other’s company.


For our 4th of July parties, we normally keep the decorations simple but make sure to add a lot of red, white, and blue bursts of colors throughout the entire setup. Red and blue tablecloths, red, white, and blue forks and spoons and white cups. We also normally spread out a few small American flags throughout the flowers around the table and party area.

Red, White and Blue Pasta Salad

What you need:
1 bag elbow pasta
2 cups mayonnaise
1 packet ranch seasoning
Red Food Coloring
Blue Food Coloring
Bacon Bits
Milk *Optional*







What to do:

Step 1: Bring three pots of salted water to a boil. Divide the pasta into the three pots of water.

Step 2: Add 7-8 drops red food coloring to one of the pots.

Step 3: Add 7-8 drops blue food coloring to another pot. Leave the third pot of noodles plain.


Step 4: Let cook for 12 minutes or until the noodles are cooked.

Step 5: Remove from heat. Separately drain and rinse each other in cold water.

Step 6: Place in separate bowls.


Step 7: In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and ranch seasoning.

Step 8: Add in a little milk if the mixture is too thick (this is optional).


Step 9: Slowly fold in the pasta.


Step 10: Fold in the bacon bits.


Step 11: Cover and refrigerate until ready to be served.
