Halloween is just around the corner! With four little ones at home I have a love/hate relationship with the holiday. I love the whimsy of it and the fun it brings. But, I don’t care for the spooky and scary stuff, especially those used as Halloween party decorations. All of the creepiness leads to scary dreams…which leads to sleepless nights for me as a mother!
So this year, I knew I wanted to dress up our front porch for Halloween. Rather than come up with some Halloween party ideas. I headed to Family Dollar and found the perfect accessories to give my front porch a little Halloween makeover! First up on the list was a precious glitter jack-o-lantern pumpkin. I didn’t realize until I brought it home that it has a switch underneath to turn on a light in the inside It gets even better! The little LED light changes colors! It gradually goes from blue, to green, to purple and back again. SUPER fun! It added the perfect bit of fun and Halloween whimsy to my front porch table!
I was also able to find some garden tin jack-o-lantern pumpkins on sticks. I purchased two of them and placed them inside a large planter full of mums. I love the way it turned out! They could even be great options for Halloween party décor, too!
The last thing on my list was to find a costume for my oldest daughter. Outfitting four little ones in Halloween costumes can quickly add up. I was pleasantly surprised when I found a darling Pirate Girl Costume for just $10! My daughter was thrilled with it! The quality of the outfit was a pleasant surprise. I was afraid it would be on the thinner side thus needing clothing underneath. But the fabric of the dress is thick enough that it works perfectly on it’s own!
We’re now prepared for a festive and fun Halloween! Happy Halloween Friends!
