My family has recently moved to a new home. I have slowly been putting together each room as time and money allows. My decorating budget is almost non-existent. The small amount of money I do have needs to be used wisely.
I am currently decorating my children’s bedroom. I wanted to go with a simple look for their room – a lot of white with fun patterns and colors splashed throughout.
I painted the walls white to give me a clean backdrop. My budget for their room was pretty small. When it comes to decorating a room, I have found that curtains and lamps tend to complete the look of the room. The curtains pull the look together, while the glow of a cozy lamp creates a welcoming environment.
Knowing that my budget was on the low side, I ventured to Family Dollar to see what they had. The first item on my list was to find curtains for the room. I wanted something bold yet not too crazy. I found just what I was looking for – a white curtain with bold black stripes and silver grommets at the top! They were $10 for each panel. I picked up two panels for a total of $20.
I then started looking for a lamp for the kids’ room. I didn’t want anything fancy, just a simple little lamp to add a cozy glow to their room at night. I found a precious yet simple white lamp with a shade for $6. Family Dollar never ceases to amaze me!
So for a total of $26 I had purchased everything I needed to complete their room. Make sure to check your weekly Family Dollar flyer for current décor specials going on at your closest store. You can get some great discounts! Now head on over to Family Dollar and start decorating on a budget!
