Easter Baskets for Four under $40

To a mother of many little ones, filling Easter baskets can be a daunting task. Not to mention something that can easily break the bank.

This year I knew I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on Easter Baskets. I wanted to keep it simple yet special and I wanted to fill the baskets with things that my kids would love. It was also important to me that I didn’t fill them up with candy because heaven knows they would be getting plenty of candy from their grandparents and also the Easter egg hunt.

I have four baskets to fill this year – two boy baskets and two girl baskets. I headed to Family Dollar to see what I could round up for the special day. I found everything I needed in less than twenty minutes! I thought I’d walk you through the two types of baskets that I came up with! Let’s start with the basket that I came up with for both of my boys. Family Dollar had the cutest baskets! I purchased two green baskets for the boys.

I found these Mott’s Snack and Go Applesauces in the food aisle. I thought they were a perfect addition to the Easter Baskets! I normally don’t purchase these, so I knew they would be a treat to my kids. And a healthy treat at that!

I wanted to give each boy a special toy. I headed over to the toy aisle and found these Thomas and Friends Racing Trains. My boys are really into Thomas right now, so I knew these would be perfect!

And what’s an Easter Basket without the fake grass at the bottom!? I grabbed some green grass to compliment the green basket.

And voila! The completed boy basket! Simple yet fun!

Once I had finished the boy baskets I moved on to two baskets for my girls. I found two precious pink baskets near the Easter section. I love how the baskets incorporated stripes of green and yellow. So bright and fun!

I moved on over to the toy aisle to find the perfect addition for the girls’ baskets. My oldest daughter loves anything that has to do with princesses. I knew I was in luck when I spotted this sweet Cinderella doll!

I picked up some complementary pink Easter grass to line the bottom of the basket.

Then I added two of the Mott’s Snack and Go Applesauces to complete my basket. I love how bright and cheerful it all looks together!

I was able to purchase and fill four Easter Baskets for under $40. That’s a fantastic deal!  So thankful that Family Dollar makes it possible. Now go and fill your Easter Baskets!
