Dry Skin Blues – How to Keep Your Skin Moist this Fall

It’s amazing what summer does to our skin. And we don’t realize it until it’s over. Our family’s skin is tough under the sun, they get very tanned, but they all get very dry. So when Fall comes we have to get the best skin care products.

It Starts in the Shower

I usually like to get clear and natural soaps, glycerin soaps for almost every season. But when it’s time to treat dry skin, I love to get creamy ones because it feels like a treat. There is also the Caress Endless Kiss, which has creamy vanilla and sandalwood, with a smell and feel that is amazing!

Body Wash and Body Scrub

There are many body wash styles and brands. I like Caress daily silk, which is the most creamy one. And its good to use a body scrub together with a body wash as well, sometimes using both or alternating them during the week. I couldn’t resist the temptation of a Coconut Body Scrub – Body Butter, sounds wonderful and it really is! Scrubbing all the dryness off the skin is the best we can do during the Fall season.

Moisturizing the dry skin

Moisturizing is something I do all year long because of where I live: California, where it’s very dry. So I for sure use a moisturizer after the shower every single day. My favorites are Aveeno and Suave products. I’ve been using Suave as a brand for more than 20 years. And the best moisturizer for dry skin at the moment is Suave Skin Solutions – Advance Therapy, it’s the strongest they have, and even if your skin is not severely dry as it says you need it, believe me, after summer the skin is thirsty!

Treat the Face

The face is also super important and we must replenish it this Fall, use a lotion or cream that is appropriate for your skin. I’m sure we each have our own favorites that we consider to be the best face moisturizer for dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, etc. A great tip I’ve learned, though, is to use 2 creams if you like them a lot or if you feel one compliments the other. But, I also recommend using a scrub beforehand like the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, this product has been on the market for ages and it’s there for a reason, it does deliver great skin for your face.

Don’t Forget the Kid’s skin!

Kids also need to get their skin hydrated, which will help keep the tan by not letting it peel and moisturizing it. I discovered this new line from Johnson’s, it’s amazing. The body wash combines a little of lotion and then there is the soft lotion product, which is simply the best! You should definitely go try it!
