Beauty tips for Spring! How to keep up with the latest trends

Spring is finally here, and that means it’s time to update your beauty look with this season’s latest trends!

There are 3 great makeup looks that have flooded the fashion runway this year: (1) the bold orange lip and simple eye makeup, (2) lined eyes with a soft lip, and (3) the minimalist look, a fresh, clean look that makes it appear as if you have no makeup on at all.

For nails, the trends include bright colors, along with patterns and shapes.

Check out these fashion tips that will help you look like a million dollars for only a few pennies! Family Dollar is your one stop shop for beauty products at Everyday Low Prices. Family Dollar has tons of great beauty products to choose from, so you can get the hottest runway styles this spring.

Before you can bring in the new, you need to get rid of the old! Start by checking your beauty products to be sure they are still in good working order. Just because you still have something in a jar doesn’t mean it’s useful.

Cracked containers can let oxygen seep in, breaking down the ingredients over time. So if the packaging is damaged it may be time to opt for a replacement.

Cream and liquid makeup lasts about 6 months to 1 year, while the shelf life of powder products last much longer. But if any of your beauty products look discolored, or smell funny, pitch it immediately.

GET THE LOOK – Bold Orange Lip

To create this look start with foundation and concealer to give your skin a perfect canvas for color. With a lip brush, apply a bright orange lip color, like LA Colors lipstick in Coral Sheen. Applying it with brush will make lips look more sophisticated.

For the eyes, use neutral tones, like in the brown palette of LA Colors eye shadow. You can do a simple color wash of a beige across the whole lid, or bring out the shape by including a deep brown in the crease. The key is to keep the eyes simple.

You have many options to duplicate this style. For the rocker girl look, use black eyeliner on the inner rim of the eye and smudge. If you want the look to be more dramatic, you can opt for bolder line.

For a stunning winged eyeliner look, use a liner like Black Radiance Continuous Creme Eyeliner, and apply it with a brush to achieve a clean, sharp wing point at the outside corners of the eyes. For a daytime look, let the wing extend on the outer corners of the eye, but for evening you can be more artistic by extending the line up further, and drawing it into the crease as well.

Be sure to finish your look with a nude lip and a shimmering cheek color like Black Radiance Artisan Baked Blush in Tasted Almond. This will give your skin a peachy glow.

The best way to master this look is with great looking skin. So use a cleanser like AMBI Even & Clear Exfoliating Wash, that contains vitamins C & E and salicylic acid to remove dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling radiantly smooth. If you have a lot of blemishes and discoloration, take your routine to the next level by using the Fading Cream by Ambi as well.

For makeup, skip foundation and use a concealer the same color as your skin to gently pat away imperfections. This will give your skin a natural, polished look. Next apply a sheer coat of Covergirl LashBlast Fusion mascara to bring out your eyes without using eye shadow or eyeliner, and you’re good to go.

For nails you have even more great options! Black nails and geographic designs are very popular this season. A great way to duplicate one of these looks is to start with the Sally Hansen nail polish in black and apply it only in the moon part of the nail, then finish with a top coat and you’re done. Chic and sleek!
