Tailgating Must-Haves & the Yummiest Cheeseburger Dip

Tailgating is one of my favorite parts of a football game. I’ve been to so many football games in my life, but I didn’t start tailgating until I was in college. Who knew that just as much fun could be had before the game as during the game! Even though I always want to have a good time and have everything I need for a get-together,I also love saving money.

Family Dollar helps me do that. Not to mention, I love being able to get everything I need in one stop.I was able to pick up plates, cups, napkins, forks, knives, and spoons, plus these huge serving bowls and cute little dip and cracker bowls! The smaller bowls even come with lids, so when the tailgate is over it’s nice to be able to just pop a top on the bowl and put it away.  Oh and did I mention this tablecloth?! It’s such a great tablecloth for tailgates or any outdoor party – durable, thick and easy to wipe clean.

Tailgating Snacks

My husband was pretty happy about this Hawaiian Punch following me home too, with the addition of our new cooler from Family Dollar he can have one of his favorite drinks ice cold wherever the game takes us!

Of course, I had to grab some of our favorite snacks. White cheddar popcorn, cheese puffs and whale cheese crackers were perfect to grab and snack on and I even grabbed a bag of Tortilla Scoop chips for the salsa and cheeseburger dip.

Cheeseburger Dip Recipe
 
1 pound ground beef
 
4 tablespoons taco seasoning
 
1 can diced tomatoes, drained
 
1 block Velveeta cheese
 
1/4 cup milk
 
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
 
 

What to do:

Step 1: In a large skillet on medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Once ground beef is browned, drain the grease and return beef to skillet. Add drained tomatoes and stir. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add taco seasoning and mix well.

Step 2: Cube Velveeta cheese and add to skillet. Add cream cheese and stir. Stir until cheese is melted.

Step 3: Add in milk and stir. Bring to a boil and cook for 7-8 minutes, continuously stirring until mixture begins to thicken.

Step 4: Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature or keep warm in a Crockpot. Serve with Tortilla Chips.
