This is the first New Years in a long time for which I actually get to decorate. We’ve just moved into our new house and I am bouncing off the walls with excitement over decorating! I’ve been getting a few ideas together for New Year’s so that I’m not running around at the last minute trying to put something together. While I am actually not behind on my decorating plans this year, I wanted to show you this cute 2013 New Years centerpiece that I put together. I grabbed everything I needed from my local Family Dollar at great prices! Not only was decorating in the new house fun this year, but it didn’t break the bank!
For the Hurricane 2013 Silver and Gold Centerpiece:
What you need:
1 tall hurricane style glass vase
2 packets of silver and gold ball ornaments (1 pack silver, 1 pack gold)
1 silver and gold curly ribbon packet
1 small jar candle
1 picture frame with 4 picture slots
1 empty cardboard toilet paper roll
1 Black Marker to write 2013 on the frames or the numbers 2, 0, 1, and 3 printed out and then cut out to fit into the frame
Fill glass vase with 3-4 ornaments. Place cardboard toilet paper roll inside of the vase and position it into the center. Place the rest of the ornaments around the cardboard toilet paper roll.
Bunch the gold and silver curly ribbon into the top of the vase. Carefully place the small jar candle level on top of the silver and gold ribbon.
*As with all open flames and burning candles, never leave burning candles unattended! Only use candles already in a glass jar for this project. Do not use free standing candles.*
Using a black marker, write 2013 on the glass slots of the picture frame. Set in front of hurricane vase to finish the Hurricane 2013 Silver and Gold Centerpiece.
For a little extra New Years Sparkle, use a Silver Glitter Frame to hold the evening menu and position it with a bottle of Sparkling White Grape Juice.
